Selling your house: Pets & their things

Pet Animals At Home – Adams HomesWhen preparing to list your property for sale, homeowners often ask, “Is it okay for my pets and their things to be on display during a showing?”  The answer is no.

Allergies, scents and unpredictable pet behavior are just a few reasons to remove your pet when showing your home.  Additionally, we recommend you remove all pet toys, beds, food bowls, litter box, kitty towers, etc.

Potential home buyers may not live or want pets due to phobias, allergies, and other various reasons.  Pet Animal at Home – Adams HomesTo prevent running off potential home buyers who are not in favor of pets, it is best to remove all signs of your pet.

Also remember to give your home a good cleaning once the pet is removed before the showing.  Try to eliminate as much or all of the pet hair as possible.  Read our article on how to eliminate pet hair {HERE}.
