  • Good curb appeal is essential when selling your home.  Curb appeal refers to what the buyer sees on the outside of your home when driving up in their car.  This first impression is often the deciding factor whether or not they want to tour your home.  With just a little bit of time and effort, you can get your home’s curb appeal top notch.  Start by cutting the grass, trimming back bushes, and getting rid of dead branches.  Next, clean-up the flower beds, plant new flowers, and add fresh mulch.  Painting your front door, replacing your house numbers, and mailbox are simple, inexpensive ways to freshen-up your homes curb appeal.  Adding a new doormat can give your home a warm and welcoming feeling.  A simple step like washing the siding or stucco of your home can make a big difference in a potential home buyer’s first impression. 
  • Updating your outdated kitchen and bathrooms can make a big difference when selling your home.  This sounds like a big job that could cost you tons of money right?  Think again.  You don’t have to completely gut your kitchen and bathrooms to give them new life and this project doesn’t have to require much money.  Simply painting outdated cabinets in a neutral color scheme that goes with the room’s décor can make a huge difference.  Replacing the outdated hardware on the cabinets, the kitchen and bathroom fixtures, and the lighting fixtures can have a big impact when selling your home.  Lastly, giving your kitchen and bathrooms a good deep cleaning takes only a little bit of elbow grease and is an inexpensive way to make a lasting impression.  Adding little things like new matching towel sets in the bathrooms and fresh flower in your kitchen and bathrooms can make a world of difference.
  • When it comes to updating the rest of your home, a new fresh neutral coat of paint can go a long way.  Also, giving your trim throughout the home a fresh coat of paint can make a major difference in your home’s overall charm.  Having a clean home is an essential part to staging your home properly.  If you have turned your dining room into an office, return it to a dining room, make sure all rooms are clearly defined.  Next, start by removing all cutter, personal photos, knickknacks, and play up the focal points in the room, such as, a fireplace or view.  Remove all oversized and outdated furniture that could be making the room feel smaller, also be sure your furniture is clean and looks dazzling in the room.  Simple touches such as accent pillows on the sofa can really help play up the home’s appeal.
