An easy way to polish your silver
By: Annie Malone
I don’t know about you, but I have some nice jewelry that has just been sitting in my jewelry box that I have not worn because it is so tarnished and dirty. I hate that feeling. I know there is an easy solution and that I just need to take a few minutes out of my day and pick out all of my tarnished jewelry and clean it.
Unfortunately, I did not even know how to begin cleaning my silver. I had a lot of it and I wasn’t about to do it all with one of those polishing clothes that would take me forever. So, naturally, I turn to the handy dandy internet and google the best way to polish your silver.
Here is what I found:
- Line your sink or any container large enough to hold all of your silver with tin foil
- Add 1/2 Cup of table salt
- Add 1/2 Cup of baking soda
- Fill the container with very hot water
- Then dump in all of your silver
- Let the silver sit for 30 minutes
Viola, all of the tarnish has now transfered to the tin foil and you have all of your beautiful silver jewelry back sparkly and clean!
It was such a small and easy thing to do, yet gave me a huge amount of gratification. Don’t be like me and wait until you have a whole pile of silver to clean. Go take care of it now and you will be amazed at how much pleasure it brings you!
