Fall Decorating Ideas

altWritten by: Hannah Davis

Fall is one of my favorite seasons.  If you’re looking for some great fall decorating inspiration, then look no further.

I am a big fan of the color orange when decorating for fall.  I also love the pumpkin theme, tied in with some natural pieces.  Pumpkins are a great way to transition from fall to Thanksgiving when done right.

This will help keep your budget in check when decorating for two holidays.  I am always trying to decorate with pieces that will work for Halloween and Thanksgiving.  It is also a big time saver when you’re decorating, so that you don’t have to take down Halloween décor at the end of October and immediately put out Thanksgiving décor pieces.  In my opinion, pumpkins are a great neutral zone that work for both looks.

I love these great mercury inspired pumpkins from Pottery Barn.  I have ordered two of them for my home.

Keeping with the pumpkin theme, I found these great pumpkin salad plates paired with these brown woven charger plates and these lovely golden dinner plates.

I also found this cute matching salt and pepper shaker.  I found all of these great goodies at Pier 1 Imports.

Decorating with earth tones is a great way to transition into Thanksgiving.  This past weekend I picked up these great throw pillows from Pier 1 Imports to add to my sofa.

Throw pillows are a great way to decorate for the seasons/holidays!   I bought the larger cream pillow as my base pillow it can easily be paired with any seasonal or holiday them accent pillow like the brown fall leaf pillow pictured here.

Having a neutral base pillow that will work year round is a smart decorating choice and is budget friendly.

I also love decorating with candles.  I purchased some great orange pumpkin spice candles from Wal-Mart last week.  I love the way it fills my house with scents of pumpkin.  Not to mention it is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.  I also love this nature inspired candle from Pottery Barn.  This candle is an excellent piece for transitioning from Halloween to Thanksgiving and even into Christmas.

I also am digging these cranberry vase fillers paired with a simple cream candle.   This is also a great piece that can its way on into Christmas.

Those are just a few of my favorite fall decorating tips and tricks. Enjoy!
